Our Building

Chesterfield Orthodontics was set up by Phil in 1995, originally at 182 Hasland Road. Nick joined the practice in 2004, and as the practice got busier, we set about finding a suitable site for a new building. The “Slipper Baths” building was virtually derelict, gave us the advantage of being a freehold site with a small amount of car parking space, and is just a stone’s throw from the town centre.

So the new Chesterfield Orthodontics – Smile by Design was opened in September 2005 by Paul Holmes MP. We now have a very pleasant working environment, are fully computerised (and so “paper-free”) with the latest and best in digital X-Ray processing, and we are able to comply with all of the many requirements set out by the Care Quality Commission (CGQ) Patients benefit from a cool glassy interior with light, airy waiting rooms and reception area. The treatment rooms are modern and hygienic, and there is air conditioning throughout these areas.

More recently, we have extended our car park by buying and demolishing the disused public toilet. We have also made various changes internally to adapt the building to meet new requirements for decontamination and processing of instruments. Together with our fantastic team, it means we are able to offer a relaxed yet professional environment for providing the best possible care to our patients.
